From: Soldier boy

At last!

Winter is behind us
And spring has sprung
Time for all you good folks
To have some fun!

So who is going to join me
In Holmfirth in May?
It's time to dust you down
And bring you out to play!

So who is going to join me at this brilliant friendly festival this year in this beautiful part of Yorkshire?

I can't do the blue-clickety thing to put up the festival web site here and I'm not sure if it is fully up and running yet so can I please ask someone who is techno-minded to do this for me when it is complete.(Can you hear me George Clarke?)

Many thanks and I really look forward to seeing you all there.
Let's blow those winter blues away and have a damn good time.

Yippee. I can't wait!

Chris

It's here

The site is up and running but only got fairly sparse details as yet. I think that's because the minutiae of the programme isn't yet agreed.

It's here

I look forward to seeing you there Ray, and by the way, what happened with you and the cricket club path; did you fall down the banking by the cricket field after a few too many scoops on a dark moon-less night on your way back to the campsite?
And what sessions are you arranging/leading this year at the Festival?

The guest list and programme are well on the way but as we have had a complete revamp of the web site it's taking a little time to get all the information on. The news bit gives you the latest Press Release which tells you quite a bit.
I think James is hoping to get it finished tomorrow.
See you all there.

I should have fully checked the web site before I opened this thread, otherwise we end up with an information void. Sorry!
But I am sure that all details of the Festival will be on-line soon so watch this space folks and come along to this wonderful and friendly Festival. You won't regret it.

The Nook Brewery beer is indeed very good Cath.
It only brewed it's first batch in July 2009 and has already won a best beer award from CAMRA (the Campaign for Real Ale) for it's 'Nook Blond' ale.

Whe I first tried Nook Blond it Wow'd me with it's pure quality and moorishly refreshing flavour - so moorish in fact that I had to keep trying it again and again! So it, and all the other growing number of Nook Brewery creattions, deserve to be recognised and win awards; and I'm sure that more awards will follow.

And guess what! The Nook is holding it's "Spring Beer Festival" THIS VERY WEEKEND !! (Fri 26 - Sun 28 March).
So no prizes for guessing where I, and a bunch of my mates, will be tonight!

Anyone else coming?

Hic!

Chris

Sorry for delay but I've been busy with other things - yes there are other things in life!
I know that James has been up to his neck in sorting out the fringe events, open stage and pa requirements so not all the stuff has gone on the new web site.
The timetable hasn't gone on yet as it isn't quite finalised but that should be happening this afternoon and then agreed at tonight's meeting.
Also James is going to show me how to put things on the web site so I can add all the stuff that I have as soon as I get chance.
So all will become clear.

The timetable is just about finalised as well now so that will shortly be on the web site but if anyone wants details of any particular event please ask and if I can I'll tell you.

Relax Cath.

I was only joking too ( well to be honest; half joking, half serious; with a tinge of concern that you could be so silly to joke about such a thing, especially with the obvious implied reference to the Sheply Folk Festival.)

So you are mostly forgiven. Probably a case of mouth running off at top speed and thinking it all very clever, before actually engaging brain.
But as one of the main current organizers should you make light of such a thing and in effect poke a finger of fun at the previous organizers. Not very politically correct is it?
And I don't care how many exclamation marks are used; it's not funny if some people could get the wrong message or could be offended by it's historical reference and feel you are taking the mickey out of themy .

So I am still rapping you over the knucles, but only lightly because I know you only said it in fun and that you probably now see the error of your ways and regret saying it.
Bless you.

Chris

Very good to hear Cath.

It's been very tight this year! Very tight indeed!

You must learn and understand that many punters will not commit to coming to festivals and put them in their diaries untill they know the full timetable and know what is going on in terms of who is on and where and when, so they can plan their weekend ahead.

Usual practice is at least two months before the festival; otherwise punters will begin to think that if you can't make the effort they won't make the effort too and will stay away.

And the festival now is only 16 days away. That's very poor!
Sorry to be so critical but, please make sure next year that the timetable is posted much earlier. It does count and is very important to the success of this festival.

Many thanks.

Chris

Thanks for the advice Chris I've only been doing this for about 15 years in total.
If there were more hours in the day, more helpers who offer and then fulfil we would do a lot better. Some times things happen which are totally out of our control.
If Gordon hadn't called the election it would have helped me as well.
You are welcome to come and share the work!
