Subject: RE: Obit: Vicki Williams (N Wales) From: Busy Lizzie Date: 10 Apr 10 - 03:35 AM The sun was shining with a spring warmth as we spent an afternoon on a Welsh hillside with friends old and some new and singing for lovely Vicki. Hearing Trefor sing really was quite a moment. Mix of happy and sad all in one. Some other lovely singing tributes to Vicki, it was lovely to be with you all. Thank you, Liz xxx |

Subject: RE: Obit: Vicki Williams (N Wales) From: DebC Date: 07 Apr 10 - 09:24 AM I just spent Easter Weekend at Old Keepers. I did not know Vicki or Trefor, but I could tell that Vicki was well-loved. Vicki's music played through the stereo in the lounge and on the "survivor's night", Richard conjured up some video from Miskin and a few videos of past Easters at Old Keepers. Vicki was in much of the footage and her singing and humour came through quite well. I wish I could have known her. I know that many are gathered as I write this to celebrate Vicki's life and to recount many memories, stories and most of all her music. Tonight at Cottingham Live! I will sing for Vicki. In peace, Debra Cowan |

Subject: RE: Obit: Vicki Williams (N Wales) From: GUEST,Paul Seligman, Cardiff Date: 05 Apr 10 - 06:03 PM I only had confirmation of Vicki's passing today. I didn't know Vicki well, but she seeemd a lovely lady. I can't really add to what everyone else has said. I'll be thinking of Trefor on Wednesday. I've quickly edited some of the raw material I filmed at the Miskin at Easter festival 2006, and loaded it to Youtube as a tribute to Vicki. I didn't want to delay by adding titles or doing anything clever with the sound levels etc. It's at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X99WiIib1AI |

Subject: RE: Obit: Vicki Williams (N Wales) From: Merek'n'Dary Date: 04 Apr 10 - 10:40 AM I asked Trefor's friend Stuart what Trefor wants people to wear to Vicki's funeral. Trefor is wearing mourning but I think the message is wear what you want. Stuart has suggested people might like to wear something blue as this was Vicki's favourite colour. We have been singing songs for her, listening to Vicki and looking at Richard Atkins' videos of her this weekend and she has been very much with us. Also we are all thinking of Trefor and Faye and the rest of the family and have been sharing many happy memories of Vicki. Dary (As in Merek'n'Dary) |

Subject: RE: Obit: Vicki Williams (N Wales) From: bubblyrat Date: 30 Mar 10 - 05:51 PM Karen has been in contact with the RC via Merek & Dary, and it seems that TENTS are OK as well (if it's a long way to tow a caravan) ,although the RC stresses that there are no outside toilets ,so your own "campa-potty" would be useful. |
Subject: RE: Obit: Vicki Williams (N Wales) From: Dave Masterson Date: 30 Mar 10 - 05:24 PM Both Dave & I are deeply saddened to hear that Vicki has lost the battle against cancer. I count it a real privilege to have sung alongside Vicki & Trefor when hosting the Saddlery concerts at Tenterden Folk Festival. They are truly one of the couples that there is no "edge" to and they have both been an inspiration to me. I will miss seeing them together and "chewing the cud" with Vicki. Vicki, thank you for bringing such sunshine to those weekends. I will never forget you. Trefor, our prayers are with you at this terribly sad time. Eileen Masterson |
Subject: RE: Obit: Vicki Williams (N Wales) From: My guru always said Date: 30 Mar 10 - 04:37 PM Just heard from Mary that there are no dogs allowed at the Rugby Club, not even in cars or camper vans I'm afraid. I hope this won't cause any problems for anyone but they were very definite about it!! Just spoken to Trefor too, he's been busy with organising & communicating as you can imagine. He's got a good friend in Stuart who has been helping him keep on track with his positive attitude. He's so glad for all the messages here from so many good friends made in the folk world over the years. Apparently car parking at the crem is a little limited, so car-sharing will be the way to go. Many thanks to Ann & Dave, Rhiannon & Mick, Karen & Roger & Sue Jones for offering to give lifts to those with campers. Anyone else in need please let me know! |

Subject: RE: Obit: Vicki Williams (N Wales) From: Busy Lizzie Date: 30 Mar 10 - 05:03 AM There will be a session at the Big Lock this Sunday night, whether I make it to Anglesey or whether I'll stay here this weekend not sure right now as Ian has a gig with his own band on Sat night now, but I know that everyone at our little Middlewich Session will be raising a glass to Vicki and sending hearwarming thoughts to Trefor. I'll make sure of that. Vicki and Trefor have been several times, and stayed in our little caravan or in theirs and joined in as only good mates can. We'd spend the morning after talking about blue nail varnish and eating bacon butties! Happy memories, and there are lots more, we'll join you all in remembering them wherever we are. Liz x |

Subject: RE: Obit: Vicki Williams (N Wales) From: My guru always said Date: 30 Mar 10 - 02:41 AM It looks likely that we'll be able to organise lifts between the Denbigh & Mochdre between ourselves from the discussion I've seen so far. Anyone else in need, please make themselves known to me! Could anyone who has offered to call in at the club to give lifts please let me know their mobile number if I don't already have it (hope we have signal) and we'll figure needs on the morning itself. I'd suggest that leaving the club at 12.30 latest would allow for any traffic problems, hopefully. Candle still lit for Vicki, love & hugs to Trefor. Hil |
Subject: RE: Obit: Vicki Williams (N Wales) From: GUEST,Chris & Ian Date: 29 Mar 10 - 07:35 PM We are shocked and deeply saddened by this news. Our "folk family" has lost yet another lovely person. Rest in peace Vicki. Our thoughts are with you Trefor. Chris & Ian LocTup Together |

Subject: RE: Obit: Vicki Williams (N Wales) From: bubblyrat Date: 29 Mar 10 - 05:47 PM Karen & I would most likely have two seats available for lifts to Mochdre; it all depends on whether or not the Rugby Club lets us put the tent up---it's a very long way to drag a big caravan at 45 mph,and we have a band "gig" the night before, so the caravan option is looking increasingly less likely. But we'll get there somehow !! |
Subject: RE: Obit: Vicki Williams (N Wales) From: GUEST,jeff Date: 29 Mar 10 - 04:59 PM W/as much time as I've spent and will spend in N. Wales never had the pleasure of meeting her.
