I've heard very good reports of this festival and I may be able to attend this year.
Could you please give more details about ticket cost , campsite, venues etc?

Hi
Constant lurker on this board but this is my first post. Is the Jon Boden mentioned in the lineup THE Jon Boden (Spiers and..., Bellowhead etc) or just a freaky coincidence? Im thinking of attending anyway, just intrigued!
J

And the answer to the question is therefore YES Guest Jack :-) As far as I understand it from Ralphie, apart from Jon's other input, the two of them are lined up in a workshop on the Duet concertina, which I'm looking forward to attending with a lot of interest.

Incidentally, looking at the information that Mark has provided about the event that Ralphie and I are going to be presenting, we are not actually giving a "talk" as such... there is talk involved, but we are presenting a show "Listen and You shall Hear" about the life and work of Lucy Broadwood (so not just her song collecting) - it contains 13 or so musical items ... it's (hopefully - but you'll have to ask those who've seen it before) not a dry dust lecture (the lady had a sense of humour and an interesting life ) :-)

I've only been to Bradfield once before (about five years ago), but enjoyed the sessions and the company immensely. However, even though it's in July, make sure you bring some winter woollies and layers - it can get very cold and windy in the Peaks.

The Bradfield bash is excellent - Alan Day and I attended for part of it last year. Great sessions in the Royal at Dungworth and more concertinas than you can shake a stick at.

I can't go this year as gigs have got in the way, but it's a lovely setting and both a stimulating and relaxing weekend. Thoroughly recommended.

Hmm ... I don't know quite what to make of that, unnamed guest. I'm not sure about the interesting life (in my case anyway), but I certainly hope we both have a sense of humour ?
Just to reiterate - it's a great weekend, and Mark has some great guests turning up (as in previous years) :-)
