Thats the problem I have with blueridge guitar, I have played some that were absolutely outstanding and some that were pathetic ... They seemed to have had a large number of different companies all making the darn things and it is like a lottery ... I guess if I were to buy one I would have to play a bunch of them.   I guess it is all about who made it ...but some of them are very pricey and I guess if I were going to pay the high price on some of them I would look at one that will hold its value and go up in the long haul. Some of them approach the Taylor and Martin pricing ...

I am glad you got a good one at a low price ... I am just rambling on the company in general

I wouldn't be at all surprised that it is a Regal. But more likely The Regals and The Blueridge Guitars all came from the same factory and were built by license for the various companies. My brother has a Regal Dobro that he is very pleased with. I have a Blueridge Br 43 that is becoming my go to instrument for a lot jobs I don't need a big instrument for.

ok, a few years ago I took a risk on a 'suspect' bargain ebay
new in box "Blueridge" Resonator.

I've never found any record to confirm that Blueridge ever marketed
any Reso guitars,
and at that time the only similar looking photo on the internet
was of a Regal.

Whatever, its a decent quality guitar and I'm not complaining at the low price I paid.

Recently curiosity resurfaced, and I found this thread from 2005
on Harmony-central forum discussing a similar Blueridge Reso
and speculating about the hazy origins of Blueridge under the Saga
group of product brandnames..

http://acapella.harmony-central.com/archive/index.php/t-891307.html

So is my mystery Reso definitely a re-branded "Regal"
and if so, would it be a much better guitar than I deserved for the price [ approx £99]?

any ideas ???

cheers...
