Thank you all for your input.

Joe Offer found the song I was thinking about. My older sisters had a compilation album with this song on it. Some of the other songs were "Husbands and Wives" by Roger Miller, "You Beat Me to the Punch" by Maty Wells and a version of the "Batman" theme (probably the Markettes).
