Sedbergh Folkfest, 25th to 27th June, is the new name for The Dent Folk Festival. The event moved to a stunning setting under the Howgill Fells just outside Sedbergh, Englands Book Town, last summer as it had
outgrown it's original site in Dentdale.

The main marquee features the cream of the UK folk circuit; Waterson:Carthy, the first family of English Folk;
masters of Celtic Folk Fusion The Peatbog Faeries; high energy traditional Irish band Dervish; Multi award winning Gaelic singer Julie Fowlis; Bristol Gypsy Folkers Sheelanagig and Roy Bailey one of the Folk scene's most loved and admired performers.

Alongside these seasoned performers are rising star Ewan McLennen, a superb traditional singer; The
Balkanics sizzling blend of Balkan and Klezmer tunes; The Weirdness that is the Wierdstring band; The
uncharted musical territory of The Scoville Units; The Queensbury Rules modern pop folk and the white-knuckle
ride of The Old Dance School blowing up a storm on the festival scene.

The festival also features events for all the family, an afternoon ceilidh and late night ceilidh, puppet shows, street circus, storyteller, song and dance for families, children's crafts, dance sides, workshops from Arabic dance to festival photography, film screenings, song walks, market stalls, fantastic food, on site camping
and live music all weekend in the Blacksheep Brewery beer tent!

Full details can be found at www.sedberghfolkfest.co.uk. Tickets can be purchased on-line or from Sedbergh Tourist Information on 015396 20125.

Sedbergh Folkfest 2010 is a not for profit event funded and supported to date by Kendal College, Black Sheep Brewery, Sound Support, Folkus, Killington Marquees, Stramongate Press, North West Fire Training, Sedbergh & District Lookaround, Front Room Graphics, imageacoustic.com, Mad Monks Music, David Barrett Photography, Want Media, The Sedbergh Soap Company.
