Subject: RE: dent beer & music festival 25-27 June 2010 (UK) From: GUEST,Muppett Date: 29 Jun 10 - 05:28 AM Well I'm back from Dent, by eck it was another cracking weekend, didn't think last year could have been surpassed but it proved to be an equal to it. Fantasic, music, Fantastic company, fantastic food & drink and in a fantastic setting. Went for a walk Saturday morning before things got started and according to me pedometer I'd clocked up 2 miles, when I check it in the Sun Inn after the Music had finished later in the evening I'd clocked up a further 10 miles !!!!!!!!!. Snoz, I'll pass your comments onto the committe. The beer situation though was difficult to judge, last year, they stoped open and ran out by Saturday afternoon, but yeah Having the local ale at both bars would have helped the jams. Cheers Muppett |
Subject: RE: dent beer & music festival 25-27 June 2010 (UK) From: GUEST,Snozz Date: 28 Jun 10 - 12:06 PM Just a request, but could you please arrange for the real ale bar to stay open all day next year. I can appreciate that you can only hold so much beer, but to advertise as a Music and Beer festival, have details of all the beers in the program then shut the bar due to 'unexpected demand' and saving it for later put a real dampner on an otherwise great weekend. Closing the real ale bar also doubled the amount of people at the other bar. How about having some of the local beers on handpull at the real ale bar to cope once it had shut? Apart from that, a great weekend! Thanks |

Subject: RE: dent beer & music festival 25-27 June 2010 (UK) From: BanjoRay Date: 17 Jun 10 - 01:20 PM Last year I spent Thursday night in Dent and had a very nice session in the Sun with Muppett, Ossonflags etc then joined a bunch of Old Time playing mates at the Sedbergh "Dent" festival. This year I'm not bothering with Sedbergh - the midges were a lot worse than I've ever had them in Dent, the festival was expensive and the walk to the nearest pub was totally knackering and very midge-bitey. Looking forward to Dent! Ray |
Subject: RE: dent beer & music festival 25-27 June 2010 (UK) From: Dave the Gnome Date: 17 Jun 10 - 11:19 AM It's OK Muppett - Already been explained. Thanks anyway. |

Subject: RE: dent beer & music festival 25-27 June 2010 (UK) From: GUEST,dozy rozy Date: 17 Jun 10 - 09:55 AM It has to be Dent for me.I dont like those pseudo prison camp festivals. |
Subject: RE: dent beer & music festival From: Dave the Gnome Date: 16 Jun 10 - 09:51 AM Does anyone else find it quite astounding that there are 2 weekend festivals just over 5 miles apart from each other on the same weekend? Doesn't make any odds to me as I am at a wedding elsewhere but I would have thought a bit of co-operation could have resulted in either two seperate festivals not interfering with each other at all or one king size festival covering the whole area. Probably just me... DeG |
Subject: RE: dent beer & music festival From: Mr Happy Date: 16 Jun 10 - 09:05 AM Last year, we went here http://www.dentmusicandbeer.com/ - a nice village was Dent, but only 2 pubs & a beer fest happening simultaneously, 1000's of folk descended on the place from all over, so you couldn't hardly get in a pub to stand, never mind try for a session. This year, we're going here http://www.sedberghfolkfest.co.uk/, everything on the same site so should be ok for seshes etc. Also, Sedburgh town's within walking distance & has more pubs. May venture into Dent for a looksee during the weakend |
Subject: RE: dent beer & music festival From: GUEST,Muppett Date: 14 Jun 10 - 04:59 AM Just under 2 weeks to go, enough time for me to get my voice back, so come on start packing. Going up there this weekend to see how the preperations are going on and to have session in the sun, with out of the sun. Look forward to meeting up with folk again. |

They're there sometimes on a Tues. eve as well |
Subject: RE: dent beer & music festival From: Will Fly Date: 08 Apr 10 - 11:50 AM Well what a bugger! I'm spending two days in Dent (staying at the George & Dragon) the fortnight after that. I shall have to find out if there's any other music on in the village when I'm there... |
Subject: RE: dent beer & music festival From: Dave the Gnome Date: 08 Apr 10 - 11:16 AM We treated a friend from Morley to about 6 pints of draught Old Tom (8%) at our club one night. He has bever forgiven us but never called Lancashire beer since :-) Allthough to be fair Robbies is brewed in Stockport which could well be Cheshire... DeG |
Subject: RE: dent beer & music festival From: Dave Hanson Date: 08 Apr 10 - 11:11 AM This is outrageous, checkpoints and custom must be re-established immediately. Mind you it is understandable given the state of Lancashire beer. Dave H |
Subject: RE: dent beer & music festival From: Dave the Gnome Date: 08 Apr 10 - 10:51 AM Looks a good do, Muppett. I am working Saturday or I would seriously consider it. Amazing how many of us Lancastrians sneak across the border nowadays... :D |
