Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Song about Wind Farms From: GUEST,TJ in San Diego Date: 13 Apr 10 - 12:21 PM A gift, such as it is, to anyone who can massage and make a song out of it. Rank after rank, on a brush covered hill, Stand tall alien beings, unearthly and still. An army of sentinals standing their watch, In gleaming white rows which no mortals could match. Awaiting the winds that will stir them again, Their eerie white paddles, like the wings of a plane, In stately rotation, they arc through the sky, I behold, mesmerized, as beneath them I lie. Woof woof, woof woof, as they rip through the air, A scythe to the eagle that flies unaware. The current they send to the home far away, A gift from the winds as they go on their way. |

Subject: Lyr Req: Song about Wind Farms From: Weasel Date: 11 Apr 10 - 01:01 PM A while ago on Radio 4 (Uk)there was a fake folk-song supposedly written in the future, on the subject of the shutting down of the old wind farms. It was in the sentimental style of folksongs regretting the passing of, for example, the hand weaving or the sailing ships, but was about the passing of the "silver blades that now will sweep no more" (or something like that - much better.) Did anyone catch it by any chance, or does anyone have any information about it? |
