In truth there is my partner Danny who is also the graphic artist and M/C at all our coffee house gigs. There is still work to be done and some minor glitches to over come but it is good enough to launch. Hope you can take some time and have a look. The second page after you hit the entry button the picture are dark but this will be corrected.

Thank you Ranger and Sandra. Maybe Sandra that is why I am not here as much. I'm busy booking musicians for the coffee house. Housing them when the need arises. following up on all request to perform and having bios ready for the café Namasthe poster which covers a 4 month period of concerts. I am now booked solidly until the 2 week of December.

WOW! That is a terrific site. Reckon Danny has outdone himself. Who da thought that lad was so multi-talented - in more than his wonderful music. You guys do such a terrific job. It is wonderful to see Canadian musicians get what they deserve. THANK YOU both.

Looks good - nice graphics - I like it,

but sadly

may be unreadable by the visually impaired as it is ALL graphics with no text popups - you can read text only when images are loaded (takes longer on dialup), so some may have problems - but I'll assume you will worry seriously if you get real complaints from those actually affected.

Very nicely done guys!

The site is clean and easy to navigate. Check out the photo gallery - some mudcatters there.

You are doing good things for music by giving these artists a venue and by encouraging and supporting youngsters to get playing.

Bravo!

Will note that Foolestroupe on the popups. In the overall spectra of things for our venture, it will only be effective within say a hundred mile radius. So in answer to the dial up I will not worry to much on this as there are about 2% that fall in this area where I am located.

Thanks Bobad.
You have experienced more than once our coffee house venue and your trip here is very much appreciated. Our concert on Saturday evening with Teresa Doyle brought in for our company our first bank deposit which will eventually go to sponsoring some young musician. I will be hitting the pavement tomorrow with a cooperate brochure. Hopefully organizations like the Optimist club, Rotary and others will be receptive to the idea which we are trying to develop. Danny and I are not taking a cent for our work other than paying for what we have to take out of our pockets to get this thing running.

What an incredible lot you have done, hosting all of those musicians! I like that I can enlarge with a quick click, but I didn't see any page which really *tells* me about the Namasthe (sp?), i.e venue. Am I missing a page click? It's great, otherwise, I'd just like to know more!:-)

Thanks for sharing with us,

Looks like what you get when you entrust website design to a graphic designer.

And I don't mean that in a good way.

It's not just that it excludes the blind - none of the names in those images will be indexed by search engines, so people searching on the artists you've hosted will never be directed to your club's site.

No site is perfect Jack and ours certainly is not . However with comments like you've made, they can be followed up on.
Thanks Janie,Bonnie, Maeve for your support. Greatly appreciated.
Kat, once you have entered the site and passed the mission statement page you come to the index page. On the left click on events. Once that opens click on the Café Namasthe logo and you should get past and up coming performers. If it does not work please let me know.
Thank you also for your support. In more ways that one.

Ah, I see, now. The Continue button wasn't working for me, last night. It probably was my browser, though. I've been having a lot of trouble with the newest Firefox. Pretty neat when I got on through to the "other side!" The photo slide show didn't work; it just clicked from smaller to larger, but no slide show. Those kind of quirks can be worked on, though. When I have more time, I'll do more exploring. Thanks!

I'm going to expand this thread to a few things that are taking place at our Friday evening coffee house. Last evening we hosted a group called "Jou Tou" Google it. "Andre Thibault and Cho Cha". We experience an evening that will leave folks talking for a long long time. In fact I should start up a thread just to talk about the folks we had and are coming in the future. These wonderful musicians who are willing to drop in, and do so for the love of music and not for the bloody dollar sign. However, if the basket is full at the end of the evening it is very welcomed as it does not happen to often in the folk world.

Wow! We were out of town when you announced this. Beautifully done site, and a wonderful contribution to the music community. All functions worked fine at this end. The Gary Fjellgaard video looked great in that high res, but paused just a bit to buffer on our DSL; which is way into nit-picking.

You're right about the bio Ad, I figured it was worth posting here.

Jason Lang

"Jason Lang has been described by friends and critics alike as an extraordinarily talented artist and musician.

Son of Canadian folk music legend Penny Lang and the late renowned American folk singer Dave Van Ronk, Jason's music is rooted in the folk tradition, and his strong pop sensibility gives his songs a wide appeal.

He has written and recorded with Roch Voisine, Luba, had several top-twenty Canadian country hits with Loggerhead recording artist Denise Murray, and has worked as a musician on gold, platinum and diamond records.

Before jumping out of the shadows and into the spotlight, as a much sought after sideman Jason toured extensively throughout Canada, Europe and the United States with many of Canada's best and well known artists including Amanda Marshall, Roch Voisine, Luba, The McGarrigle Sisters, Isabelle Boulay, France D'Amour and Richard Séguin, Luce Dufault and Veronic Dicaire to name a few.

Jason has also produced seven albums, was the recipient of three Felix Awards (Quebec's equivalent of a Juno) and received a Juno Award nomination."

Just a bit of a continued story. Last Friday we had Jason Lang and his son in the audience. As well there was a special lady by the name of Penny Lang, mother, grand mother sitting in the audience. Penny and Bruce put on a concert Saturday that brought tears to the audience eyes. Then Sunday at another concert Penny was again at her best.
