Lark Camp

Well, It's monday. I just came back out from a week in the deep redwoods of N. Ca. Lark in the Morning has a muisc camp every year. This year I went.

What was it like? Well my poor befudled brain is still trying to figgure out what happened.

Let's see, there is the 09:00 Digirie Doo workshop to get you started. Trying to learn circular breathing. (Heck, could hardley do regular breathing...)

Then a break at 10:00, at 11:00 the Scottish Pebrok (sp?) thing. Uh, no bagpipes, you sing these. Quite nice really, then LUNCH.

After lunch, Irish concertina, (way over my head, but did get some tripples) After that, back to the camper and squeeze the accordion for an hour and have a nap.

At 4pm Ocerina class. I looked all over for a possom one, but they only had the regular clay sweetpotato ones. Found out that they are of various sizes. A bass orcerina is worth about $900. or so...if you can find one. After that, dinner.

After dinner? Jam! Lets see we had one with three digiariedoos, (or don'ts) rattles, drum and me on the Orcierina dooing the "eat-a-taco" bird calls. I didn't know that tacos came from Oz.

Well this went on for a week. Oh, yes, every night was Carnivale in Brazil, Party in French camp, (bag pipes and Hurdy Gurdys?)

Met a million very nice people. I'll need a couple of MudCat T shirts for next year. Size 4X please. Not many have heard of Mudcat. So will have to do a bit to get the word out. Lots of old Hippys. Funny to see someone in beads, tie-die, bell bottoms, thongs, and very long, and gray hair. Average age, oh, about 35-45. Some kids, more oldsters, lots of middle people.
