It did seem an unlikely collaboration to me. I knew about the Gilmour/Bush link but how did Harper fit into it? Thanks for the 'Dimming' link BTNG - Another classic.

Long association with Dave Gilmour

It obviously caused angst for Roger Waters

Roy harper has been a long time friend and collaborator of Pink Floyd/Gilmour I saw him supporting Flyd at Hyde Park in 1968. He also sings lead vocal on the Wish You Were Here track "Have A Cigar" Gilmour appears on several Roy Harper tracks as does Kate Bush.
