Just wondering if there is software on my Windows os7 computer that I can record with, or should I download something, and if so, what works well/easiest?

Well, there is a very limited Sound Recorder in Windows 7 - you'll find it under "Accessories" in your list of programs. I've used it in a pinch, but you're far better off downloading any of a number of free programs. The Windows 7 Sound Recorder records only in WMA format, not WAV. The majority favorite at Mudcat seems to be Audacity. Note that they recommend using their Beta version for Windows 7. Also note that there's an additional download for those who want to create MP3s.

If you need help learning the program, post to one of our Audcaity threads (click)

Good luck - and don't be afraid to ask for help.
