hi

I have set up a chat room on ICQ #46015364. Just until Max gets the one set up for here. I have no idea how well it will work, if at all, because I have to stop being "me" on ICQ to open it.

Please feel free to try it... again I suggest what we did before go in on the hour and loiter for a while... see if anyone turns up. That's maybe what I'll do... open it around the hour and swap back if no one appears. I don't know if I have to be online for it to work. (Duane did you get into a chat box when I wasn't online?)

I hope I don't have to be online.. seeing as I'm asleep when the US is awake......

Let's try it and see how it goes...... let me know if you get in.

Yes I can confirm that it works. A successful, albeit intermittent, connection was established between Belgium (and if it can be established from here it can be established from anywhere!)and Australia. Unfortunately a great white shark biting on the cable somewhere in the Indian Ocean prevented any coherent conversation other than greetings taking place. Still...until the 'CatChat is back up it could be a useful facility. Well done Alison for setting it up!

For anyone with mIRC... it's there too... just checked.. maybe this is how I can be two places at once.

Type /join #folk_music

you'll meet someone calle jig1, (guess who)

but if I scroll up trhough IRC it says it is connected to irc.eu.dal.net(7000).
