The best you can do is look on the listing sites. Try cresby.com If I don't list what you want, there are links to listing sites all over, including Stratford-o-Avon area. Use the map feature (linked from the county name). It is all in the drop-down menus from the hompage.

Leamington -St. Patricks Irish Club *club 01926 425795 : sess last Thur seems to be the nearest. ring first it has not been confirmed for a long time. Style would be er, um, Irish?

Bretforton, nr Evesham -Fleece *pub 01386 831173 : come-all-ye # link # 9pm Thur Worcs is not that far away. landlord dances with Pebworth MM. Style is anything, mostly music, some song, probably with an English bias. Go anyway - you will thank me. Look for the witches marks on the fire hearths.

I can confirm that the Fleece at Bretforton is the only thing on round here on a Thursday.

I haven't been to it myself but the people who run it are good local folkies so you are guaranteed a great evening.

What are you doing around my way?
I share the hosting of the session at the Fleece, which is every Thursday but doesn't usually start to gone 9pm. It can be mostly music or mostly singing, depending who turns up. It can also be a bit sparce or jam packed! I'm not even sure whether I'll be there myself tomorrow, as I'm off to Padstow on Friday.
However, we can guarantee a variety of music & singing, great ale (Nigel Smith, the landlord, also has his own brewery!) and a supper snack is provided.

It appears there's nothing within a sensible Taxi ride distance so I'll just have to look for some jazz or even just find a good real ale pub and have a quiet drink.

If instead you want the best ale in Stratford-upon-Avon with some 6-8 real ales to choose from, its at The Bear Bar in the Swan's Nest Hotel, just over the River Avon ... Hic!
