Subject: RE: Gatemouth Brown & fiddle - CDs From: GUEST,David E. Date: 29 Apr 10 - 03:26 PM I've never heard a Gatemouth Brown cd I didn't like, fiddle or otherwise, so I'm not much help. But this does give me the opportunity to jump in with my favorite Gatemouth memory from quite some years ago: Small club, 100% white audience and Gatemouth peering out at us saying "You folks ain't gonna dance are you?" I seem to remember that he usually put perhaps two or three songs with fiddle on his CDs, but that most of them were with guitar. I would say it's unlikely that you'll find one with lots of fiddle. Tell bro to buy one anyway - I can't imagine he'd be disappointed! He might also like Gatemouth's viola playing on The Ali Farka Toure/ Ry Cooder collaboration, "Talking Timbuktu". |
