Me brudder is looking for a Gatemouth Brown CD with LOTS (his upper case, not mine) of fiddle - says he can't tell from the info. on the covers, and doesn't want to just take a chance.

Anyone know of one?

I've never heard a Gatemouth Brown cd I didn't like, fiddle or otherwise, so I'm not much help. But this does give me the opportunity to jump in with my favorite Gatemouth memory from quite some years ago: Small club, 100% white audience and Gatemouth peering out at us saying "You folks ain't gonna dance are you?"

David E.

Like David E (above), I've never heard a Gatemouth Brown CD I didn't like.

I seem to remember that he usually put perhaps two or three songs with fiddle on his CDs, but that most of them were with guitar. I would say it's unlikely that you'll find one with lots of fiddle. Tell bro to buy one anyway - I can't imagine he'd be disappointed!

He might also like Gatemouth's viola playing on The Ali Farka Toure/ Ry Cooder collaboration, "Talking Timbuktu".

I've no idea which CD it's on, or whether there is a lot of fiddle on or not, but his song "Bad Week for OLd Fiddlers" is brilliant.
