'Twas good to hear (speaking as a Westcountry denizen), but it did come over as a bit precious. Something about the chosen songs being somewhat downbeat. I can't put my finger on it. However, good to hear, as I said.

Hi Steve I have not heard from you for a long time. I would be really pleased if you could find time in your busy schedule, to call me to catch up. I am still happily married to jacinta and we celebrated our first anniversary on nov 21st 2010. Ihpe you are all well. Lots of love and luck. Mike

The last edition of Open Country, which I only listened to today through the downloaded podcast, was up in the old Durham coalfields and had a section talking with and an extract of a song from Jez Lowe.

A really good radio programme anyway, and now obviously having a bit of a folk music theme to boot!

Let's hope there's more to come in the same vein - Kathryn Tickell (and/or Alistair Anderson) on Northumberland immediately springs to mind ... Bella Hardy and the Hope Valley ...

That Jez Lowe chappie is excellent! :0)

Tell Radio 4 to have those Gorgeous Oysters on soon, and then I might give the show a listen...
