You should go on the gearslutz.com website if you really want an informed response on high-end gear.

I've never used a Blue microphone, but people who I trust swear by certain Blue mics. Someone I know loves the Blue Cactus, which he says is his favourite 'dark' mic.

Doubt you could go wrong with a Blue.
