Subject: Young Acoustic Roots Competition From: Sooz Date: 02 May 10 - 03:22 PM The Young Acoustic Roots Competition has moved about a bit but has found a new home at Wath Folk Festival. The finalists each performed in the (extremely cold) marquee this afternoon. The winner was 16 year old Niamh Boadle, already a fine singer and certain to make a name for herself in the not too distant future. In second place was Pete Dilley and the runners up were Bella Gaffney and Wilbur Sears. All of these talented young people really showed that there is great hope for the future of genuine live music. Well done to the organisers (BPAS Group and Wath Folk Festival) |
