Subject: Paecsetan: an unexpected treat
From: Paul Burke
Date: 02 May 10 - 06:18 PM

I went to the pub to discuss a problem with temperature controllers with a friend (like you do, especially on a Bank Holiday Sunday), and who should turn up after 2 pints but a Morris side.

Paecsetan from Sheffield. Cotswold Morris, excellent melodeon, what's unusual about that?

Well, they are women, and young too (3 babies between them).

Absolutely blooming brilliant, traditional as interpreted by young feet, just decided to do a nocturnal your of the Peak, Morris dancing like I first encountered it forty years ago.

If you're lucky, you'll run up against them too.

Jess and Fiona from Pecsaetan dancing in the Double Jig Competition during Sidmouth Folkweek 2007
They were well deserved runners up

wish I was young and fit enough to do that

And of course the excellent melodeon player is Richard Arrowsmith also of Crucible, Hekety and Glorystrokes.

Pecsaetan are truly impressive. If I hadn't seen them dancing out on several occasions I'd think they had Photoshopped the pics on their website so perfectly synchronised is their dancing and so high off the ground.

One of the best teams in the country, been to Straw Bear twice and took the trip to Bad Canstatt last year with The Bear. What a week end that was. They have not found the 6 foot trench a lot of Morris teams dance in

They are great, I saw them at Towersey last year. A bit more aggression and they'd be the best team in the country.
Just my humble opinion though.

OK John, how do they compare for price/performance with Eurotherm? And have they got any jobs on offer?

BTW the problem wasn't in the temperature controllers, but with his complete failure to understand why you need to keep analog inputs screened and well away from relay- switching mains outputs, and what happens when power relays chatter with heater loads. Plus the whole caboodle violated just about every clause of the LVD.
