Subject: Una voce -- music around the world From: GUEST,mg Date: 03 May 10 - 04:24 PM This is my new idea and it will be called Una Voce, probably like lots of other things. I could also translate it into other languages..Una Voca in latin..Ein ?? in Deutsch etc. Well, here it is. Every month the entire world can chime in on one song from another country. I have taken the liberty of chosing the songs for the first year. Countries are: 1. Spain 2. South Africa 3. Germany 4. Philipines 5. Canada - Quebec 6. Bangladesh 7. Russia 8. Argentina 9. Jordan 10. Camaroon 11. North Korea 12. Wales. Some songs are: in bad spelling undoubtedly Eres tu, Shosholoza, Mein Vater Vas ein Vandersman, Un Canadienne, the one about sunshine, something about a little horse, Wakka Wakka e e , and Ar d'..through the night. Plus others. I do have to make sure that a couple songs I am not familiar with do not have any offensive lyrics, but I think they are OK. Boy, life is simpler when you skip the committees...I just chose songs I liked, and seemed fairly simple and singable. Some countries are harder to my ears to sing but I am sure it is true for them singing Home on the Range etc. This will commence on June 1. So you have actually a whole month to learn Eres tu and then a month to sing it. I was inspired whilst listening to old Dubliners clips on you tube and kept seeing this group of Thai children singing their songs..they are really cute...just google the town I loved so well and Thai. I figured if they could do it, so could all of us. Well, here to get us started..pretty song..sung by a Basque group. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1s3BIX0duKs&feature=related |
