Subject: ADD Version: The Gallant Weaver (Robert Burns) From: Joe Offer Date: 04 May 10 - 02:19 AM Crowhugger linked to the World Burns Club which says, "Under no circumstances can any of the contents of this site be copied, reproduced, or represented without prior written consent." but most of their content is in the public domain, so I'm going to post it. Also please take a look at the Digital Tradition version - there's a link above.

Subject: Lyr Req: I gave it to the weaver (?) From: GUEST,Boocal Date: 03 May 10 - 07:45 PM I have a memory of a song I used to sing many years ago, and a part of it came back to me this weekend on Mayday hearing someone play the melody. I remember it sung by Gordeanna McCullough (sp?) and the chorus goes: I had lovers eight or nine, They gave me gold and ribbons fine But I was afraid my heart would tinre So I gave it to the weaver. More lyrics would be welcomed. |
