Does anyone have contact information for Inge Wessels? She wrote and recorded The Tugboat Song on Folkways FW38405, Sea Music of Many Lands: The Pacific Heritage, in 1979.

We are recording the song for an upcoming CD, Northwest Tugboat Tales, and we would like to pay her songwriting royalties.

I searched all the usual places: the liner notes, Harry Fox Agency,BMI, ASCAP, SESAC, the U.S. Copyright Office, and found nothing. Before I pay the fee to the Copyright Office for a compulsory license, I'd like to make a try to find her here.

If she does not turn up, could she perhaps be deceased? She was in Canada and maybe there is a search engine. Or she could have returned to Germany or be elsewhere, hopefully alive and well. mg

Hi, I don't know how much you've heard, but Inge passed away on April 7th, 2010. She had ALS. Legally I now control her estate and would be delighted to talk to you. I'm thrilled that you want to record her song. I have her stuff, photos, and even some lyrics to other songs she wrote. We'll be having a memorial for her in mid-June in San Francisco.
