A message from a friend: "Do you know any kids song(s) about evolution, early hominids, neanderthals, cave humans, hunting/discovery of fire/farming, or anything like that?" I come up blank. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

may be on on evolution.www.bananaslugstringband.com see their educators page...many band members are or have been science teachers

also see Man Cub from the Jungle Book movie based on Rudyard Kipling

You can teach backwards, too, by showing the wrong stereotypes and explaining why they're wrong. Dave van Ronk's "Ally Oop" shows that off.
