I see from the Fairport Facebook feed that Matty Groves came in second at the General Election yesterday, Plymouth Moor View - honest!

I just Googled him and apparently Matthew's employment background is in alternative dispute resolution. I believe he used to employ the better of two long beaten swords for this.

Also - Chris Leslie got in in Notts East! (He was playing in Rainworth last night but kept jolly quiet about having to go out for the count).

Is this is in the ballad or in the bluegrass tune?

Leeneia, the two long beaten swords are I think in the version of "Matty Groves" performed by Hedy West, and borrowed by Fairport Convention in 1969. There are no Tory MPs in it but I imagine Lord Barnard was not exactly a left winger.
