A mate of mine - his son actually - has shown some interest in getting a G Banjo.
Whoever has talked to him initially has told him that these Sheridans are the dog's bollox - but I read some reviews on other Web pages which makes me believe that it's not the case. Sounds like a comfortable /familiar - name but it appears not.
I told him I would ask around and see if I could get some more info and constuctive advice. I think he may be getting tempted down the wrong road with some smooth salesmanship.
Advice appreciated .
Cheers

Betsy

Try these guys, they ARE banjo specialists and personally, I've had nothing but good service and advice from them. (Although mine was to do with acoustic guitars).

THIS IS IN UK. I don't know where you are.

They've a lovely attitude and they actually PLAY the instruments. I am only a customer of theirs, nothing to do WITH them.

Best of luck.

Great shop and good sound advice (in both senses of the word.) Recommended a £25(!!) pickup for my banjo and it's ACE.
They do internet sales, of course, but go there if you can - just south of huddersfield.
