Subject: RE: Emile Benoit, Newfoundland fiddler From: gnu Date: 15 May 10 - 02:32 PM Added to that is the Bodhran playing which I fell in love with. And, I picked up the Jacquesatar (spg?) style first try... maybe because I am half Acadian? "Give us the forgiveness and let us walk with you" comes immediately to mind... great stuff, all of it. One of the most powerful songs I ever witnessed live was by Rawlins Cross. Written in 20 minutes after news of Emile's death, "Long Night" is an amazing tribute to a great man. Vive La Rose. |
