I don't want to appear obstructive, but if you don't tell me where this link is taking me, I don't want to follow it! I know it starts with the BBC so it's probably legit, but please let us know what the thought behind the link is so we have an idea whether or not we want to navigate away from Mudcat.

Mudcat doesn't need a good word. It's already good. It's a free exchange of ideas for
people who can express themselves without restriction. (Within the boundaries of good taste and consideration for other's feelings). It can be controversial. It's democratic.

Somebody on that forum wrote "Don't do Mudcat" in the middle of a long paragraph comparing different web sites—and somebody else panicked, thinking Mudcat was being slandered.

I don't think so. I think he meant "I don't do Mudcat" and dropped the "I" in the informal way that many people do, as in "Haven't had breakfast yet" or "Been there, done that."

I didn't "panic", I just thought it would be good idea to put in a good word for Mudcat on the BBC "Folk and Acoustic" message board!

A characteristic enough Mudcatter response...

The BBC site seems oddly clumsy compared to the Mudcat - for example only able to see at most 25 thread links at a time.   The Cat may look simple but it's dead clever.
