Subject: RE: Just Put In A Good Word for Mudcat From: Leadfingers Date: 21 May 10 - 08:40 AM I would love to have a say , but how the Hell do you get on the board ? Applied to join and got ignored - NO E mail to confirm registration . and NO response to Resend ! At least here you CAN have your say easily ! |

Subject: RE: Just Put In A Good Word for Mudcat From: Anne Lister Date: 21 May 10 - 08:41 AM I don't want to appear obstructive, but if you don't tell me where this link is taking me, I don't want to follow it! I know it starts with the BBC so it's probably legit, but please let us know what the thought behind the link is so we have an idea whether or not we want to navigate away from Mudcat. |

Subject: RE: Just Put In A Good Word for Mudcat From: Leadfingers Date: 21 May 10 - 08:44 AM Anne - The link is straight to the BBC board , but you have to be registered to do any more than read other people thoughts ! |

Subject: RE: Just Put In A Good Word for Mudcat From: Stringsinger Date: 21 May 10 - 09:23 AM Mudcat doesn't need a good word. It's already good. It's a free exchange of ideas for people who can express themselves without restriction. (Within the boundaries of good taste and consideration for other's feelings). It can be controversial. It's democratic. |

Subject: RE: Just Put In A Good Word for Mudcat From: Jim Dixon Date: 21 May 10 - 09:56 AM Somebody on that forum wrote "Don't do Mudcat" in the middle of a long paragraph comparing different web sites—and somebody else panicked, thinking Mudcat was being slandered. I don't think so. I think he meant "I don't do Mudcat" and dropped the "I" in the informal way that many people do, as in "Haven't had breakfast yet" or "Been there, done that." |

Subject: RE: Just Put In A Good Word for Mudcat From: GUEST,Jim Martin Date: 21 May 10 - 12:19 PM I didn't "panic", I just thought it would be good idea to put in a good word for Mudcat on the BBC "Folk and Acoustic" message board! |

Subject: RE: Just Put In A Good Word for Mudcat From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 21 May 10 - 12:22 PM and somebody else panicked, thinking Mudcat was being slandered A characteristic enough Mudcatter response... The BBC site seems oddly clumsy compared to the Mudcat - for example only able to see at most 25 thread links at a time. The Cat may look simple but it's dead clever. |
