1) internal proxy servers 2) firewalls 3) leased line Lan Connections

Kat, I have that problem with recording on my machine. I called support and they were no help. If you figure out a solution let me know.

kat I turned up my volume and I heard it but a patient came in and I had to stop and then when I returned your message had disappeared. I don't know what happened and now it says I have an error 1112 of two different telephone numbers. Do they want my office number or the number of my server? Dam I hate being a stupid PhD!!harp

Well, Harpy, I just shipped you sumpin. Let me know if it works. (can't send phone to phone. That number is not a *registered mediaring number* da little box says).
And I'm not sure that was a folk selection, but it was something short that I could remember (grin) and I learned it from Michael Cooney. Doesn't that make it folk?

I sent you Voizmail, did you get it? You need to go to the Voicemail area and download. Voicemail is one of the buttons on the bottom of the phone. Let me know.

Harpgirl, is "Harpy" okay?*BG* I would guess if they are asking for a phone number they want the one at your office. I don't know about the error codes, but I do know that my voice message from C'spaw went into my email programa nd I can go there anytime to retrieve and hear it over, and over, and over......kinda like that pink, mechanized rabbit!

PhD? Patient, huh? Veddy, veddy in-tear-est-ink....do not disparage. Unless one is prepubescent, our brains/minds/etc. just seem to take sometime to catch on to all the cyber stuff.**BG** Trial and error, hands-on seems to work well at teaching this center-aged Kat new tricks!

Oh joy! This is so cooooollll! I have heard Katlaughing sing Not My Colorado, Blessings Barbara sing Cecilia, and now Mick singing Night Rider's Lament!!!
My headset microphone is at home but tomorrow I will bring it with me to the office and sing you all something myself. I hope my boss doesn't get mad at me. No wait a minute, I'm my own boss!!! It does make this lonely (except when listening to patients) office more interesting!! I can't wait til we all download this mediaring. It beats Webfone hands down. When my dad comes back from cruising the St. Lawrence Seaway with my mom he is going to really enjoy this! Thanks for the tunes!!! I guess I'll have to bring instruments to the office. Mick even played guitar for me! BTW the voicemail is stored in your regular mail server, which is why I couldn't find it after I heard it once! Does everyone already know about this???...harpgirl

kat, I turned up the volume from the little box in the lower right side of your computer screen and you can also go into your sound card properties and fiddle with that to increase volume. You all came in loud and clear! woopee! Do I sound excited ???? harpy

Okay, Bert, I figured out the volume thingy, with Rog's help. In an HP system with Win95 & IE:

Start Programs
Choose Accessories
Choose Multimedia
Choose MediaRack
Choose Select Menu
Chooose System Mixer
Then crank the mic volume and my even has a booster feature I chose.

Hope that helps.

I tried sending via MediaRing VoizMail two songs to [e-mail] but it came back as an invalid address. MediaRing has worked well for me for many months. I talk regularly with Central America from New Jersey about three hours per night. Harpgirl..is you addy all lower case?

WOW! Thanks everyone who sent me a song! Found out LEJ has a fantastic voice; Jo77 plays a wickedly great reel on a beautiful melodeon; C'spaw's message broke up quite a bit, but he sang me a great song with a beautiful voice and smooth pickin', sounds exactly like what I would expect...the humour comes through in the voice, phoaks!

How 'bout: if you get one from someone, send one back.(If you can) That way we'll keep passing the songs along. And I've noticed the shorter stuff is easier to download and breaks up less -- I think. (That's why you got Cecilia, harpy; I was trying to think of short songs I knew. So, yawl, send me some too.

Well, grrrr. Harumph. I can't hear anything. I wonder if this has to do with the fact that our computer geeks have been working assiduously recently to put everything behind a firewall because someone has been trying to hack into our system, and we aren't able to get attachments beyond a certain size?

My computer account here at home is the same as the one at work.

Any ideas?

I down loaded Mediaring and set it all up and then I found that when I went to exit, shut down, whatever, my computer froze, and I was locked out. So I have had to uninstall the program. Any suggestions for a different Voice mail program? Knockknee'd one.

I guessing there is a problem with the dialing software or the soundcard settings. The first needs be the msot recent upgrade of the network drivers - in w 95 it is ws 2. THe sound card drivers are those supplied by the board maker but if you've a soundblaster m/soft's own versions work really well.

Has anyone figured out how to use this with Netscape? Their help thing didn't help nor make a lot of sense, when I tried to install this for bet on her 'pewter. I noticed it says it works best with IE and had a link "in case i wanted to try it, again with IE"!

I have IE and it works fine. She has Netscape ver.4.04. I've emaile dthem for help but no reply yet.

You all douns just great! Harpgirl, just heard yours this evening. The words weren't totally clear but the melody & your voice were beautiful.

It's going to take me a day or two before I have time to send some more. Thanks to everyone who sent me one. Oh, Mick, could you try it again, darlin'? IT was really broken up. Thanks!

Thanks for trying.... but those ones that go to email addresses just don't work for me (please try again to the phone number.. listed above).... very distorted... Mick sent a general one to a heap of us I think,

I couldn't make out most of what he said due to it breaking up but the song bit came through OK.
