Subject: RE: Philadelphia Opera Company surprise From: katlaughing Date: 24 May 10 - 11:39 AM Brought tears to my eyes, of joy, that is. Someone posted a similar one a few months back, but it was in Europe if I remember correctly. It's encouraging to composers such as my brother, who is finishing an opera...his own libretto and all. Thanks! |
Subject: RE: Philadelphia Opera Company surprise From: GUEST,^&* Date: 24 May 10 - 09:02 AM We have a farmers market once a week in the summer months in Kinvara, in the west of Ireland. It's held in the garden of an old building with some converted outhouses/lean-to's which act as a cafe and shelter when necessary. Each week, a group of local musicians play and sing a range of material to entertain the customers, busking. The standard may be judged by the fact that one Johnny Moynihan is a regular contributor! |

Subject: Philadelphia Opera Company surprise From: Mary Katherine Date: 24 May 10 - 12:54 AM Last month several members of the Philadelphia Opera Company went to a farmers market in Reading, PA and burst into song; the reactions are priceless, ranging from "huh?" to "these people are crazy, let me out of here," but it's funny and wonderful. Well worth the three minutes of your time. How come stuff like this never happens at MY farmers market? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_zmwRitYO3w |
