I've sometimes wondered if "My Lovely Horse" (see last post) was a crafty reference to "Ride On".

You know you are getting old when you can remember watching the FIRST Eurovision Song Contest.

Thanks for that link, Lox.

As an alternative, the late, wonderful comedian Marty Feldman had his own way of doing things in his song "Eurovision" (written by Denis King & John Junkin) which he introduces as "a cheap, oily and rather nasty attempt to cull the majority of votes in the Eurovision Song Contest by ingratiating ourselves with everybody."

You can hear it here: http://www.myspace.com/feldmanmarty (from the LP "I Feel a Song Going Off".) Just go to the page and the Euro song starts playing.

I love Eurovision - looking forward to this year's great extravaganza.

I thought catters might find this article amusing.

In the link is a pictorial representation of the most commonly used words in succesful eurovision song lyrics.

The most common ones are written in large text, while less common one are written in smaller text.

Just looking at it seems to cause the mind to anticipate certain familiar phrases.

Guess which word is by far the most common?

I hope you enjoy the link ...

LOVE
