Just look in the classified ads of Bluegrass Unlimited and you will find a couple of ads for their instrument dealing down in North Carolina every month for years.

Just acquired a copy of "Smoky Mountain Ballads." The LP looks like its about 1965 vintage -- smack in the middle of the "folk scare." Anyone know anything about this recording (Ken Goldstein wrote the liner notes)? Sure would like to find out if they're still around and singing.
Can always drop me a line offlist at jack (atsign) wepecket (dot) com.

Thanks!

Am I mistaken but didn't Harry marry someone else named Jeannie? Are they the original couple? I really enjoyed them when I knew them in New York.

1.Can someone supply discographical details(recording & release dates, matrix nos., personnel) of
Harry & Jeanie West's "COUNTRY CHRUCH" label 78rpm release?      know of any other 78rpm issues?:
Sunny Side of Life / What Would the Profits Be
2.The liner notes to an Old Homestead LP states out-takes of material recorded for Stinson was issued by Topic - I do not find Harry or Jeanie West in the online Topic discography on the Musical Traditions website.
Does anyone know: Is the liner note incorrect, did I fail to locate the information when I searched, Were the recordings issued elsewhere ???
3.Can someone identify two albums listed as:
   "Goin' Steppin'"                                 ?
"What Is A Home Without Love"       ?
Thanks for any information you can supply.
Best wishes, Thomas.

While going through a box of old records I hadn't seen in fifteen years, I came across an album I used to love by Harry and Jeannie West. Does anyone know what happened to them? They had a lovely unselfconscious traditional music style that I really enjoyed.

I saw them in concert with Ed McCurdy, Cynthia Gooding, Rick and Lorainne Lee and some other folks in an unforgetable evening in New Haven raising money for the Indian Neck Folk Festival.
