This film starring Derek Jacobi is on tonight on the Blighty Channel at 8.00pm.

Got to be better than Eurovision.

I think on the whole I would have to say I've just wasted 2 hours of my life. The jokes were to few on the ground and not nearly funny enough. The music was was a let down and the dancing was pretty well none existant.

I find it hard to beleive that such a poor idea managed to finance an entire film.

DVDed it on 2 & 1/2 hour setting to get film and documentary on the same disc.

dont expect too much from such a low budget indie uk comedy..

they're usually shite.

though the one about boxing and drinking milk with that bloke from lord of the rings
gave a few laughs

and the one about bowling with that 'comedy' dennis penis actor was fairly amusing enough..

dont get me wrong , i like funny films..
but since the ignorant twat across the road has taken such
british pride in displaying his BNP support poster
in his bedroom window..
kinda takes the shine off enjoying our proud historic
British culture...

Better than Eurovision but thats about as far as it goes. The music was so disappointing - didn't even spot a musician.

Reminds me of stunt pulled by pro hunter some while back in Virginia.

Someone put up a lifelike deer as a lawn ornament for Christmas and the across the street neighbour set up a dummy (stuffed hunting clothes) kneeling with a toy air gun trained on the deer.

So couldn't you put something up in your window to annoy your BNP neighbour?

Not nearly as good as the hype and if any morrismen did watch I think they would be none too chuffed.

Absolute drivel. I cannot believe this got financed. On balance, I think Eurovision would have been more entertaining.

Mind you, I ducked out before the end - so maybe it livened up ... hostage taking, Bruce Willis to the rescue ... or maybe not.

The worst film I have ever seen. It trumps Voodoo Woman, The Evil Force, and Waves of Lust. Worse even than Paris Hilton's The Hotty and the Notty, etc etc.

Interesting in flashes but a disappointment overall for most of the reasons already set out. A great shame

Maybe doesn't translate well to the small screen: if you look at the very long thread re its cinema showings, seems most folk there enjoyed it!

OK , I'm NOT a Morrisman , but I enjoyed the film and it is , at least NOT a Bad Joke about something Folkie like Pillock Howells comment about Aran Sweaters and beards .

Fair point Tattie Bogle

If I were a Morrisman and was in a cinema full of dancers than I would have enjoyed the film much more. There was certainly some clever humour.

No Morris dancers in our cinema, but plenty of laughs!

I saw it on a small cinema screen at Darlington Arts Centre and I'd certainly see it again even though I know what's coming. There were folks there who'd seen it before and travelled to Darlo.
I don't have a television though.

it wasn't a pisstake like Tony Hancock's 'The Radio Ham'..that one still causes us 'hams' to shudder.. but the idea of diferent weight hankies, hankie scars, Dorchester Airport carbon fibre staves and some 'carry-on' lines like 'do you like my muff?' or 'Police Squad' lines 'will it affect the Status Quo... I don't know about them...'. ' what do all the (dance) names mean.?. -dammed if I know !'    plus there's the head of the Morris Circle being German after extolling everything English, then there's the 'Wookies Hole'(Although Wookey Hole isn't in Dorset) cider , although I'm not sure if Onan's revenge is a pick-you-up, or 'keep-you-down....!
True, no musicians and very little real dancing... but a happy ending!

good luck with the threeple damson and keep those bells tuned!
