Room booked for Thursday 3rd June in the back at the Padstow Social club

Doors open 7.45

start 8.15

visiting artistes welcome but get there early

Guest ales of the real sort reasonably priced as its a club

This is a one-off for Whit week prior to a run in the summer holiday season

'The Windward' experience!! nonwalkingtalkingmobilephoneringingcrispcrunching etc

adm £3 flat rate for all!!!

The room is set away from the main bar and is capable of holding a goodly number.

Advertising is very local to Padstow and is aimed at those on holiday as well as locals and will accommodate siblings

If you happen to be in the area pop along

The Social club management are most supportive and a folk club atmosphere ethos will be respected

Totally acoustic no mics

This model worked succesfully in previous years though there has been a lapse in recent times

Inspired by the memory and encouragement of Mervyn Vincent

Wonderful.
It sounds just like the folk club John Buckingham ran at the back of the Golden Lion many years ago.
I used to go along to Rogues Corner when Margaret Brenton was there, but that was much more intimate. We would sing "The sweet notes of the nightingale flooooow" while thinking of Charlie Bate.
I wish I could be there but NZ is too far away.
Have a lovely evening.
Robyn

"Inspired by the memory and encouragement of Mervyn Vincent"
"The 'Ghost' of Charlie still squeezes"
They certainly do! We even had 'her hair hung down in giblets' last night at the Earl of Rone - but few knew the origin.

It worked a treat

Very friendly audience, including Berliners, Geordies ,Scousers, Lancastrians , Midlanders, Hertfordians, Hampshans, Cornish, Welsh and Padstonians.

Scotland must be still at work.

The chorus singing was most healthy.

And then it carried on a bit after

Next one

Thursday 24th June

same time and place
