Subject: RE: The 6th Suffolk Folk Festival Woodbridge From: Paul Davenport Date: 08 Jun 10 - 08:08 AM 'I went about 4 years ago and there was nothing' Come next year Jack, the difference between last year and this was very marked. One landlord I spoke to admitted to completely underestimating the amount of activity on the day and virtually ran out of beer. The festival is set to be one of the 'unmissables' of the folk year. |
Subject: RE: The 6th Suffolk Folk Festival Woodbridge From: Jack Campin Date: 07 Jun 10 - 09:01 AM Did you have any sessions this year? I went about 4 years ago and there was nothing, except for an impromptu one organized on a barge that managed to sail up the river on a spring tide (the first to manage it in 100 years, so this was not likely to become a regular feature). One event labelled as a "session" in the Cherry Trees (? - the pub with the big garden) turned out to a be resident band, and the other pubs didn't even seem to know what a session was. |
Subject: RE: The 6th Suffolk Folk Festival Woodbridge From: Bounty Hound Date: 07 Jun 10 - 04:33 AM Paul, really pleased to hear you had a good time, we had a cracking afternoon concert on Sunday to finish the event, very well attended despite a last minute change to an indoor venue in light of the weather forecast. As it turns out, the promised lousy weather didn't materialise, but we did have an excellent afternoons music. Bigger and better next year! Just to echo your thoughts, well done Mike & Jenny |
