Subject: RE: Nigel speaks out on 'Guitar Gods' From: Little Hawk Date: 04 Jun 10 - 12:59 PM Nigel's legendary number 1 favorite guitar (from the movie "Spinal Tap") was recently sold for $40,000. I saw an article about it in a guitar magazine, I think the magazine is called "Acoustic Guitar Aficionado" or something like that. Anyway, this was the guitar featured in a well known scene in the movie, and Nigel said that it was his most special guitar and that NO ONE was allowed to touch it or play it...not even Nigel! And when the rockumentary interviewer asked if he could just look at it, Nigel said, "No, you can't." ;-) Well, it turns out that the legendary guitar is a 6-string electric bass. Someone no doubt is displaying it proudly in his mansion now, and not letting anyone touch it or even look at it... |

Subject: RE: Nigel speaks out on 'Guitar Gods' From: Darowyn Date: 04 Jun 10 - 04:00 AM One of my son's friends went for an audition to get into an American Guitar College. He is a very good rock and metal guitarist. As he walked in to the audition room, he saw Joe Satriani was on the audition panel. He says that he just froze to the spot. He spent several seconds looking down at his guitar, wondering what it was, and which way up you were supposed to hold it! He did play and he was accepted in the end though. Cheers Dave |
Subject: RE: Nigel speaks out on 'Guitar Gods' From: Little Hawk Date: 04 Jun 10 - 02:59 AM You are so right, Murray. I wish I could just touch one of Nigel's guitars, maybe play a chord or two on it...specially the one that no one is allowed to play or even look at! |
Subject: RE: Nigel speaks out on 'Guitar Gods' From: Murray MacLeod Date: 04 Jun 10 - 02:41 AM Nigel Tufnel is a legend, an inspiration for millions of young shredders, and ranks way higher in the pantheon of guitar gods than Joe Satriani ... |

Subject: Nigel speaks out on 'Guitar Gods' From: Little Hawk Date: 03 Jun 10 - 06:41 PM It's important for anyone who is interested in contemporary music to understand the concept of the Guitar God. In this compelling video interview Nigel Tufnel, a genuine GG himself and therefore an authority on the subject, explains most of what you need to know about it. "'E's not a savage twit." |
