I'll be there with the Boat Band. I think we are co-hosting a session with the Watch, but can't remember when that is. Looks like a good progamme all round.

Taz Tarry said there's a couple of pubs and the Rugby Club (and outdoors if fine I suppose)

Session opportunities.
Essentially the whole weekend is meant to be one long session, from when you arrive till whenever you fall asleap. 4am is typical.
The main session is in the Rugby club, and smaller sessions in whatever pub you can talk into it.
Plus there are talks on various aspects of the tradition to give your fingers a rest.

A splendid weekend - well done to Taz - and also to Redbornestoke morris for their invaluable help. I can't walk as far as the pubs so stayed in the Rugby Club all weekend - some magnificent music - and some great stepdancing too - both from the travellers - especially Percy West and Leo Baker - and from those involved in the Dartmoor stepping - (six at once on Sunday afternoon!) Next year at Brighlingsea will be the first time ECMW has been held at the seaside - buckets, spades and knotted handkies obligatory!
Dave.

What's Brightlingsea like? Are we talking buckets and spades, or muddy creek?

Muddy Creek, but Clacton & Walton are not far.

Didn't make it for the whole weekend after all, but it was lovely to see and hear everybody in action on the Sunday. Thanks for another lovely event Taz (and all others involved).

It was a corker!
We came along for most of Saturday and then most of Sunday - within reach of home for us. Well done Taz and Redbournstoke.

Who's organising the Brightlingsea ECMW?

Brightlinsea is at the mouth of the River Colne, a nice little port - see - http://tinyurl.com/35csl87 It shares a joint estuary with the Blackwater
I shall probably be anchored off there sometime next week1! - on s.b Centaur - a Thames barge.

Not that I have heard. It won't be the normal weekend as that clashes with Brightlingsea carnival.

That's good PeterC!
If its not the "normal" weekend, 2011 sounds possible for me as it won't then clash with Alcester Folk Festival, Evesham Day of Dance, Stratford-upon-Avon Beer Festival or Falmouth Maritime Festival etc ...!
"... some ringing, some dancing and singing...!"
Alan
