I wanted to find out and I clicked a few, hoping they lead to webpages (because I can't find them!). For me they lead to Purgatory, apparently, because after I got a message about heads and bodies, nothing happened. Maybe it's my AOL program playing Big Brother? Also, chat does not go anywhere either, it just freezes up my computer.

Help? I wanna play! Don't like being left out!

I know that feeling!! I can't offer any better advice than try posting your message on the help pages or just hang in there and somebody will answer your query. I've only recently joine the 'Cat community, and they really are a friendly, helpful bunch - if a little weird at times!! Good luck and enjoy! Teller.

Hi. Well, usually the "blue clicky things" lead to a new web-page. If they don't it could be a variety of reasons, the simplest is that the page is no longer available.

Now the Chat thing is odd. The chat system requires you to have either Java or IRC available. Check the settings on your browser there.

If there is a link that does NOT work, what you can do is, check the Source for that page, and copy out the url (the portion that starts with "http://", then copy it here to a message so other people can check it out.

Without knowing the specifics of the url that is broken, it is hard to tell where the problem comes from.

A lot of the blue clicky things lead to past threads on the topic you are in... many lead to other sites... but if that site no longer exists you won't get anywhere or you'll get an error.

the chat room isn't working yet, Max is fixing a new one

I have started temporary chat rooms ICQ #46015364 (which seems to be dependant on me being there).. and there is another on mIRC (type /join #folk_music).

Thanks, everyone. :-)

I specifically meant the links attached to people's usernames. I tried 'Spaw's (wanted to see the Possum), and Katlaughing's and one other, and they didn't lead to anything. I was hoping they lead to personal pages. I know they're out there somewhere!

As for the chat, I think I dumped IRC when AOL acted up...don't know a thing about Java. So maybe I just don't have the components I need for chat. I just uninstalled ICQ because it conflicted with AOL IM and I couldn't uninstall IM (wouldn't let me), but I'm going to upload it again in a few days as an experiment, so I'll give the ICQ # a try.

I've got IE4 as my browser, and I have not figured out yet how to see code with it. That was the biggest thing I liked about Netscape, but no Netscape here for now.

Those links take you to a list of threads people have contributed to and sending personal messages.

Bbc has done a several pages of photos and info... that's where you'll get to see the possum.

the thing is, the blue links on a persons name cause a search for EVERYTHING that person has ever posted...I tried clicking on my OWN name, and since I have been here for 3 years, it took forever...and bombed Netscape after 513,100 bytes!...so if you click on anyone who talks a lot, have a fast machine with lots of memory, and be prepared to WAIT!...better to wait till Max has worked out the new search routines that allow more filters and limits..

Marvellous, Alison, thank you so much!

Ok, I'll avoid clicking you big talkers' names. :-)

Somewhere out there on Netscape,
Blue clicky things lie
If blue clicky things go to your webpage,
Why then, oh why can't I?
