Subject: RE: Tech: Deleting bunches of pm's From: Janie Date: 13 Jun 10 - 03:06 PM My finger is sore, but it's done. Joe, as you well know, I can be a real ditz, but I knew about the boxes. My first post was poorly worded. I was hoping there was a select-all function. Thanks again to both you and Kat. |
Subject: RE: Tech: Deleting bunches of pm's From: Q (Frank Staplin) Date: 13 Jun 10 - 02:30 PM Joe, if I want to save only a few posts in a thread - say of those below the belt ones about oil spills - and get rid of those that I don't like - is there a little box I could check? (Joe, wash out your mouth, I am only joking) |

Subject: RE: Tech: Deleting bunches of pm's From: katlaughing Date: 13 Jun 10 - 12:01 AM Janie, if you check on "View your archive" first, then you will see all of those little boxes to tick. Still only one at a time, click-wise, but at least a whole page after you have them all ticked. Not quite as bad as having to go through every one of them. I've got tons of them...a diary of sorts, for reference, memories, etc., so now I usually try to decide right after reading one what I want to do with it so I don't add too many more.:-) It would be nice if we could do like our email with a Select All, Delete, etc. |
Subject: RE: Tech: Deleting bunches of pm's From: Janie Date: 13 Jun 10 - 12:00 AM Do me gotta check all 516 boxes? No fancy tricks to select all? (I'm on a Mac, btw.) |

Subject: Tech: Deleting bunches of pm's From: Janie Date: 12 Jun 10 - 11:37 PM I have managed to accumulate a little over 500 pm's, mostly because I was working on a project that involved a bunch of 'Catters and needed to keep track of some information for a time until the project was completed. I need to delete them. Is there a way to do that other than one message at a time? (Sad to say, if I can, I am going to lose some personal contact information for a few people that I meant to transfer elsewhere, but did not. However, there is no way I can go back now and cull that information, even if I have no choice but to delete messages one at a time.) |
