I freely admit to being biased in their favour, but would be delighted to hear from anyone who caught them on other dates on the tour (I was at the final date in Washington, Co Durham a couple of nights ago).

The gig I attended was wrapped up in a lot of football banter (Bob and Billy are on opposite sides of the Sunderland/Newcastle divide, as fierce as any outside Glasgow) and I even wonder to what extent they played on that when on neutral territory during the tour.

Thought you good folks at mudcat might be interested, I have got the wonderful duo of Bob Fox and Billy Mitchell coming to Southport on Wednesday October 7th. This is part of a national tour and album release (Back on City Road) which will be available exclusively at the live concerts.

Places are limited so if you fancy it I would recommend getting your tickets in advance as opposed to turning up on the door. Southport Arts Centre are very kindly handling ticket sales, and details are available below as to how you can get your hands on them.

Well, I never thought we'd be lucky enough to see these two guys together again but it's happening next week.

Of course, Bob Fox still visits us fairly regularly and he's a "grand turn" on his own. However, he has now rejoined his old pal Stu Luckley (Ex Hedgehog Pie...Remember them?) for this very special one - off tour.

Last night we went to Bromsgrove Folk Club for the first time in years, to see Bob Fox. Just wanted to say we had a great time, nice venue (Bromsgrove Rugby Club), friendly crowd and good beer, we'll certainly be back. Good luck to the organisers for the Bromsgrove festival next week. Apparently they wont be at the rugby club next time !! Thanks for a great evening.

Its nights like these where you go home, knowing why you put so much effort into running a folk club.

Karen and Colin Thompson were excellent and not to be missed if they are in your area.

Incidentally, Uncle Michael is taking care of L & C's sleeping arrangements, but many thank for ElGreko's Offer. What a nice bloke.

Just remember keep those belly buttons tucked in. Lucy is coming in a sheet of armour, and sword to bear. :-)

The Fox Valley Folklore Society is presenting Bob Fox in a house concert of Thursday, Sept. 19th at 7:30 pm in Batavia, Illinois (about 40 miles west of Chicago). I bought the album Nowt Sa Good'll Pass on speculation years ago and was a big fan the instant I heard "Bonny Gateshead Lass." I'm pleased to have a chance to see Bob perform. Thanks.
