Subject: The Hix

Last weekend went to the festival in Clifftop, WV. It was so wonderful I feel hesitant to promote it too much for fear that it might enlarge to the point where it's not wonderful. Anyway, saw a band like I've never heard, called the Hix, from Philadelphia, and really loved their stuff. It is decidedly non-traditional, but with mostly the same instruments as any stringband. Wondered if anyone else had a comment about them. (If you're going to rush out and buy a CD on my say-so, you should know that the newest one, called Sweet Sunny South, has electric instruments).
