Sorrow In the Wind by Jean Ritchie is one of the best!

Then there are the complex but loving songs cuh as "Do You Love An Apple,""I Know Where I'm Going," "The Lea Bob's Lassie," and "Mat Highland."

I think one of the most awesome is the Highland Widow's lament...

I was the happiest in all the land
Sae sair may I repine
For Donald was the bravest man
And Donald he was mine

I think it was like 1958 or '59... I was 'round 12 'er 13... I donno... Anyway, as many of ya'll can relate, there was this imprompto "sock hop" in a neighbors basement and, really, I don't have a clue who I was slow dancin' with but someone brought in a newly released 45 of Kathy Young singing "A Thousand Stars" and to this day that song represents that niave time in a girl's heart where men ain't like, ahhhhh, a pain in the ass...

I'm being serious here...

But, fir all the womenz here, don't think that men being a pain in the ass comes easy... No, mame... It takes some heavy liftin' on out part but, hey, what else we gonna do??? Huh???

Nevermind, just think that "A Thousand Stars" is is the song that best conveys a womenz "contentment" with men...

Wonder what ever happened to Kathy Young??? Don't think she had anymore hits...

BTW, over the years I have sung that song to the P-Vine... Contentment??? Yeah...

B~
