Subject: RE: Moira Furnace Folk Festival From: MBSLynne Date: 10 Aug 10 - 11:50 AM I imagine you got that from Colin Grantham Sooz. It sounds like his tone. There is a caravan/camping (I think both) site at Conkers just up the road. Also a YHA. Don't know anything else about them though. Love Lynne |
Subject: RE: Moira Furnace Folk Festival From: Sooz Date: 10 Aug 10 - 12:08 PM The Conkers site is a Camping and Caravanning Club site, but open to non-members. I don't know how busy it gets at this time of the year though. |
Subject: RE: Moira Furnace Folk Festival From: VirginiaTam Date: 10 Aug 10 - 12:37 PM change of plan... we will be arriving with Crow Sister in tow Friday about midday. Gladly lend a hand where needed. We liked stewarding at Sidmouth. Shame about the tshirts. Too late for us to order according to the order form. :-( |
Subject: RE: Moira Furnace Folk Festival From: MBSLynne Date: 10 Aug 10 - 01:43 PM We should have a few t-shirts for sale at the festival and since you will be relatively early arriving you should have no problem Virginia. Love Lynne |
Subject: RE: Moira Furnace Folk Festival From: Eye Lander Date: 10 Aug 10 - 07:33 PM getting very excited now. Tee Hee |
Subject: RE: Moira Furnace Folk Festival From: VirginiaTam Date: 11 Aug 10 - 03:12 AM me too... specially since Crow Sister is coming along. Wait until you guys hear her sing. Absolutely stunning. I couldn't be more proud if I was her mom. thanks Lynne re tshirts. fingers crossed. |
Subject: RE: Moira Furnace Folk Festival From: MBSLynne Date: 11 Aug 10 - 04:00 AM Ok..meeting last night. 1. Absolutely no entry to campsite before 10 on Friday morning. 2. Though we are past the closing date for t-shirt purchase on the website, this only means that if you order them now it isn't guaranteed that they will be ready for the festival so they would be posted out to you if not. However, he's doing them really quite quickly at the monet so if you order them ASAP they MAY be ready for pick up at the festival. We won't have any for sale at the festival, only ones for people who've ordered them. 3. Is anyone who may be travelling up from the south west able to collect two or three barrels of cider from a cider farm on the way? I couldn't fit one in my car coming back from Sidmouth, let alone two or three, and the other person who was going to bring some isn't coming now. Love Lynne |

Subject: RE: Moira Furnace Folk Festival From: My guru always said Date: 12 Aug 10 - 03:59 AM Oooeer, thanks VT! As far as I know my sets will be main stage on Friday at 8.15pm and second stage on Saturday at 9.45pm. But of course that's subject to changes on the day. It'll be nice to have some friendly faces and voices around me, and Moira is full of those *grin* |
Subject: RE: Moira Furnace Folk Festival From: MBSLynne Date: 12 Aug 10 - 08:16 AM She'll also presumably be singing at the Mudgather too, since she's running it! And hopefully some of the other singarounds. Getting excited and nervous again, though less nervous this time since we have last year's success to build on. We've sold heaps more tickets than last year. Just keep everything crossed for good weather again! Virginia Tam is arranging it. Andy J can you please sort Miskin weather for it too? (Though preferably less cold at night!) Love Lynne |
Subject: RE: Moira Furnace Folk Festival From: OlgaJ Date: 12 Aug 10 - 10:16 AM Hope the weather clears up nicely before next weekend. We are in the middle of a huge thunderstorm here at the moment! Doesn't bother me but the dog isn't very happy. Long range forcast isn't brilliant but fingers crossed they've got it wrong again. Looking forward to identifying some of you! |

Subject: RE: Moira Furnace Folk Festival From: MBSLynne Date: 13 Aug 10 - 04:34 AM Alie, of Alie and Steve comes from not far away too. Sorry Kathy, they should have told you when you are on. You're doing the Big Sing with Mike on sunday morning from 11.00 till 1.00. I don't have a copy of the programme at the moment but as far as I can remember you are doing some storytelling on Saturday mid dayish. I mentioned the idea of a storywalk at the last meeting and they thought it sounded great. Since the programme is now being printed they thought the best thing was to discuss it with you when you arrive and put it on the noticeboard to advertise it. The same with any other storytelling you can fit in. I don't think one spot is enough, do you? Love Lynne |
