Seems to have been effects of a heart attack. He was on the bill at Loanhead Music Festival only 2 weekends ago.

A great shame, wonderful voice. I thought his version of Burns Slaves Lament was fabulous. Didn't he do a spell in the Scot soap River City?
Condolences to his family

Coincidentally, I've just finished watching a recently purchased DVD copy of the 1987 BBC series "Tutti Frutti" - in which Tam's voice was used as the singing voice of the deceased rocker James "Big Jazza" McGlone. He was a great singer. Saw him not many years ago at a pub in Shoreham in Sussex, and he gave a wonderful performance. RIP.

Introduced to Tam when my bruv took me to see him with the Dexters in Embra afew years ago. Fast forward to a trio playing in Sheffield at the old Harlequin. Sheffield' legendary Frank White even made an appearance to see him. A great talent

Sad news indeed. I remember him from the Boston Dexters in the r'n'b 60s and was hoping to see him when he played Dunfermline again.
RIP Tam

Oh wow. I met Tam when I lived in Scotland in 1997 and got to know him a wee bit. He was an amazing musician and also a really nice guy. He will be sorely missed.

Sniff...

Hate to lose anyone but a bluesman, at least for me, is always just a little harder...
