Subject: RE: Any Bob Martin fans here??? From: GUEST,socko Date: 10 Jan 13 - 01:50 AM I knew the talented singer, guitar playin, Marty Martin in Fresno! It was in the late 60'a and early 70's. He played in a Bar/restaurant for what seemed like 10 years. Probably more like 3 or 4. He went south to LA area after that, and heard from him since. |

Subject: RE: Any Bob Martin fans here??? From: Bobert Date: 24 Jun 10 - 04:51 PM The only LP I have of his is entitled "Midwest Farm Disaster" which is one fine, fine collection of well written and composed country folk songs... The one I mentioned "Frog Dick, South Dekota" is an interesting song that deals with everything from tiolet seats to needing "another good war" to get the economy going... You have that one, David??? Subject: RE: Any Bob Martin fans here??? From: GUEST,TJ in San Diego Date: 24 Jun 10 - 04:30 PM I once knew a Bob Martin, later known (after service in Viet Nam) as Marty Martin. He was from Fresno, California, where he was one-third of our trio back in the early 1960's. Could this be the same person? We have not been able to locate him in years. He was a talented young guy then and was writing songs. I'm told he had a rough patch later on, but no details. He played upright bass with us but later played guitar as a single act. If this rings a bell, come on board. |
