Bob Martin used to get a lot off air play on the Boston area folk music radio shows. A very talented, highly underrated singer-songwriter.

I knew the talented singer, guitar playin, Marty Martin in Fresno! It was in the late 60'a and early 70's. He played in a Bar/restaurant for what seemed like 10 years. Probably more like 3 or 4. He went south to LA area after that, and heard from him since.

The only LP I have of his is entitled "Midwest Farm Disaster" which is one fine, fine collection of well written and composed country folk songs...

The one I mentioned "Frog Dick, South Dekota" is an interesting song that deals with everything from tiolet seats to needing "another good war" to get the economy going...

I once knew a Bob Martin, later known (after service in Viet Nam) as Marty Martin. He was from Fresno, California, where he was one-third of our trio back in the early 1960's. Could this be the same person? We have not been able to locate him in years. He was a talented young guy then and was writing songs. I'm told he had a rough patch later on, but no details. He played upright bass with us but later played guitar as a single act. If this rings a bell, come on board.

Bob is semi-retired but does the occasional gig and has three excellent cds available at his website (www.riversong.com)
