What's Alan White doing these days?

Running the Brighton Folk & Blues Club - see

Early photos of Alan performing in Brighton will also be included in the thread on the fRoots Forum in the near future.

What's Alan White doing these days? I've still got my copy of The Ethel Crankshore Roadshow.

Is it just me, or does anyone else agree that in the January picture at the Gloucester, Vic is a dead ringer for Ali Anderson (minus 'tina)!

Fantastic photos, Vic. Nice one. Terry Mastitis (as Mervyn always called him in Cornwall) - and our very own Bob Lewis before he became a traditional singer!

Leadfingers, that sounds that the club organiser was rather insular.
I used to go to Groombridge folk club[about 1971 run] by Isobel Sutherland, which straddles the Sussex/kent border, she always gave me great encouragement, and I always got a floor spot, it was a real family club with children getting up to do spots as well.

I had given up on trekking to Sussex in '69 after being told at a club " We dont NEED any singers from outside our area "

No Names No Pack drill , but I WAS the first person there and didnt get a spot , while TWO locals went on twice !

Didnt stop us booking Miles Wootton though !

Bring back the beard, Vic! :-) And more pics, please - Pam Fereday, Miles Wootton, Paul Downes, Tim Broadbent (again), Alan White, Stuart Reed, Pete Conway, etc. - all around Brighton at that time.
