Andy and I ( Rakes of Rochester band ) + Doc Marion and hubby are doing Wadebridge for the first time this year - just as paying guests, after Broadstairs where were working. We thought the camping was a bit pricey - but I know its fairly close. We hope to catch a concert or 2 and some good session.   

The Thursday Padstow club sounds good. Is there anything else in the area - our pre and post plans arn't fixed yet. Andy sings and I play so we like mixed sessions rather than just singers or just music.

Hello Graham. We last crossed paths at the Tree Inn folk club about 16 years ago. I was the disastrous harmonica and bodhran man with my 14-year-old son on guitar putting me to shame (I like to think I've improved a tad since then). You had the dad of the Lakepersons with you with his black concertina! Tintagel village is good for an ice cream and not much else, but you could always park your car at Trebarwith and walk up to Tintagel via Treknow, buy your lolly, walk up to the church on Glebe Cliff and follow the cliff path back to Trebarwith. Spiffin'! I have been known to perform with me mates in a marquee at Tintagel carnival in the summer, but it usually rains and the midges don't half bite. Ah, England!

Hi there Paul, personally i would give Tintagel a miss. It's not the best advert for cornwall with wall to wall chip papers and cafes. Its a bit like Newquay for the non-drunks! But as I worked for the National Trusy for Devon & Cornwall I would say that. You must go to the Eden project if you want kids imaginations to really run wild ... I mean a real live tropical rain forest wow! Then there is the far west ... Penwith with all its archeaology and history. have a trip DOWN and old tim mine too ...Good luck.

We'll try and get along to Padstow Holiday Club.... anywhere to park a camper?

We've got 5 days at the campsite in Tintagel, I thought the kids might enjoy it.

Just wish I hadn't got another 7 and a half weeks of work before my holiday!

just to keep this thread up may I take this opportunity to draw attention to the summer folk 'club' huh ! every Thursday in the upstairs of the Padstow Social club

It is a reincarnation of what used to be up to 20 years ago attracting Holidaying folkies with their kids and some surprise performers

Last weeks attendance was 34, a healthy figure for this time of the season. no one left before the end either!!

the next folk night will be on Thursdy 15th July and from then on every Thursday untill the end of August

appearing soon at Bodmin - fridays - will be Jez Lowe and at FOTM in Ivybridge which is on a Sunday is Harvey Andrews

guess that's it

The Wadebridge fest has been rescued from extinction in recent years thanks to help from HobgoB

Strangely, yes!

As my better half has gigs at Bude F.C. and Bodmin F.C (+ a support slot at Shammick Acoustic) around this date we're binging kids, dogs and camper van down to the Southwest from North Yorks for the whole fortnight ...... including spending Sunday and BH Monday (& Tuesday actually) in Wadebridge.

We're really looking forward to it, but what should we not miss?
