"The full story is that a friend of mine @ Rockaway Records heard about the tape being auctioned by Heritage Auction gallery in Texas, so I bid on it and won. Then I spent what it took to get the best possible digital transfer. Then I sat on it because I thought it might be a good addition to an Elektra reissue, and finally I figured it could stand on its own. So I approached Richard Foos - ex-owner of Rhino - and he agreed to put it out on his new Microwerks label. I suggested Michael Simmons for the liner notes -which I think came out great. Meegan, having all of phil's scrapbooks, found the original ads for Phil's Florida gig so we added that to the package."
