The California Traditional Music Society and Folkworks are collaborating this year to present the Fall Equinox Festival of folk music, dance, and storytelling on the weekend of September 11 and 12, 2010. On Saturday, Sept. 11, there will be master classes at various locations during the day, and a concert in Santa Monica in the evening. On Sunday there will be an all-day festival in Northridge.

The festival features both local and national artists (see the link above) and is a step in the revival of the long-loved Summer Solstice Festival, which had to be discontinued for lack of an appropriate venue.

The festival is currently seeking craft vendors, for a maximum of about 20 booths. Vendors pay a flat fee of $50. Attendance is expected to be around 1000 people.

Items ranging in cost from $15-$60 would be a good bet for this event. Figure that attendees will be paying $20-$30 to get in, parking will be $5, and food prices will be <$10, so wallets shouldn't be too played out.

Please pass the word to anyone who might be interested. Vendors should contact Leda Shapiro of Folkworks at folkworks@folkworks.org, 818-785-3839.

Anyone else - advance tickets are now on sale, and volunteers are needed!
