Hope that some fount of all knowledge out there in Mudcatland can solve yet another problem for me. I've somehow lost the endpin from my 1994 Lowden O1O and desperately need ro find another. Because Lowdens have the end hole drilled to take an endpin jack, the hole is bigger than ususal so all the off-the-peg ones I've tried (even the one I took out of my Avalon) are too thin. Short of having one made, any ideas where I can find one?

I hope this doesn't sound too obvious, but have you tried contacting Lowden Guitars themselves?

Presumably if you quote the model and give the internal dimensions of the endpin hole, they could help you.

Yes, Will, I thought of that - however, the guitar was built by the old Lowden Guitar Company which was then sold and became Avalon. I've tried the endpin from my Avalon and it doesn't fit. So, as you say, might have to get in touch with George Lowden himself.

If you get stuck, there are several good luthiers and parts suppliers in the Lewes/Sussex area who could almost certainly help you. PM me if you get really stuck.

This may sound silly, but most music shops can supply a standard endpin jack socket, which should fit perfectly. They usually have a strap collar included.

Here's another option

Bob makes excellent stuff, and he's a nice guy to deal with.

I mean, unless you have the electronics fitted, it's just a bit of tapered wood, or ivoroid.

I don't know why you're worried Pete. It's only a guitar after all. You've got plenty more of those.........
