Subject: Bob Knight On You-Tube:Scottish Songs From: BobKnight Date: 09 Jul 10 - 03:01 PM Well... I finally managed to borrow a video camera and put a couple of my songs on You-Tube. They're not CD quality, just me singing as you would hear me in a folk club or festival. I'm no use at the techie bit, but if you type 'Bob Knight folk' into the search box you should get it OK. More to follow. Almost forgot, I also added my version of "Tramps and Hawkers." If any of the more computer literate want to make a blue clicky for them, then I thank you in advance. :) |

Subject: RE: Bob Knight On You-Tube:Scottish Songs From: BobKnight Date: 10 Jul 10 - 05:12 AM Thanks Michaelr, that's very nice of you to say so. I'm going to change the Tramps video. I know I can sing it better, and I screwed up the ending. Sorry about that folks!! :) |
Subject: RE: Bob Knight On You-Tube:Scottish Songs From: Maryrrf Date: 10 Jul 10 - 02:59 PM Bob, I had a listen and I like it very much. I wouldn't change anything about it. |
Subject: RE: Bob Knight On You-Tube:Scottish Songs From: BobKnight Date: 11 Jul 10 - 11:15 AM Thanks Maryrf, I'm glad you liked it, but you know what musicians are like - never satisfied. It's been changed now, and I think you may agree, for the better. Unfortunately, the link which Grampus provided no longer works - so here's one to my You-Tube site. Tramps and Hawkers |
Subject: RE: Bob Knight On You-Tube:Scottish Songs From: Grampus Date: 11 Jul 10 - 11:20 AM See Bob, you ARE computer literate. Your clicky works fine. Possibly a better version, but the original sounded good to me. G. |

Subject: RE: Bob Knight On You-Tube:Scottish Songs From: BobKnight Date: 11 Jul 10 - 06:40 PM I've just spent most of the day adding new songs to You-Tube. Mostly my own ones - I hope somebody somewhere likes one or two of them, even though with the Scottish words it may be difficult for some of you to understand. :) |
Subject: RE: Bob Knight On You-Tube:Scottish Songs From: JennyO Date: 11 Jul 10 - 08:57 PM Bob, you are a dark horse. I didn't even know you were on Mudcat! We've been enjoying Bob's lovely voice and songs for a while around Aberdeen. There's a really nice CD which is well worth getting too! I'm still stuck in Oz waiting for my UK visa, with my new husband, Rob, over there waiting for me. I was just talking to him on Skype. He uploaded some photos of Stonehaven Folk Festival to Flickr, and you were in some of the pictures I saw only yesterday, Bob! No doubt I'll feel homesick watching your YouTube video. You're too modest - I'm sure a lot of people will love your songs! |
Subject: RE: Bob Knight On You-Tube:Scottish Songs From: BobKnight Date: 12 Jul 10 - 07:59 PM Hi Jenny - sorry to hear you're "exiled" for now. I hope your visa comes through soon. Thank you for all the nice things you've said - I can almost feel my head growing as I read it. :) We've had a pretty good week in Aberdeen. Arthur Johnstone and Danny Coupar, aided and abetted by fiddle player Carol Anderson and her accompanying guitarist Martin McDonald were at the club last Wednesday - one of the best nights I've seen at the club. Followed by Stonehaven Festival - some great singing sessions. I saw Rob and a few other club members, but didn't get the chance to speak to them, even though Rob was sitting virtually across the table from me. Difficult to speak when people are singing in a big room without microphones. As for YOU-TUBE - I've now downloaded 18 videos in two days - mostly my own songs, but a few traditional ones as well. |
